National Student Survey success for LJMU

LJMU has significantly improved its performance in the National Student Survey (NSS).

The newly-published results show students’ overall satisfaction with their course has increased considerably from last year and, at 78.56%, is 2.27% above the sector average.

NSS 2022 opened for most students in January and closed in April, with 27 questions across eight different categories.

In six of those categories, LJMU scores were above average, with two being significantly above the Office for Students’ sector benchmarks.

Professor Phil Vickerman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience, said: “I’m delighted to see such a major improvement in our results in NSS 2022. In particular, our score on students’ overall satisfaction rate with the university is extremely pleasing and represents a big step forward from last year.

“These positive results reflect the commitment of everyone at LJMU to providing an outstanding experience for our students. As we all know, the last couple of years have been incredibly challenging but we have worked hard to adapt and find new ways to give our students the support they need, both academically and personally. It’s great to see that our students have recognised this.

“We will be analysing the data in detail over the coming days and drilling down into the responses at a school and faculty level. We will share that with you in due course. For now, let me thank you all for everything you are doing to support our students and I hope you are encouraged, as I am, by the positive headline figures from NSS 2022.”
