Getting a response (Spring 2012 entry)

After you submit an accommodation request, a copy of the request is sent to the Email address that you entered on the form. If a copy does not arrive in your Email account, this probably means that you did not enter the Email address correctly. You should contact the LJMU Accommodation Office to check that the request has been received. 

All requests are checked to ensure they are complete and also to ensure that the sender has made LJMU their first choice university. We will contact senders with any queries, so if you do not hear from us you can assume that we have all the information that we require.

Due to the limited availability of student accommodation it is not possible to guarantee a specific location to new students commencing a course at LJMU between January and March 2012.   However every effort will be made to offer students accommodation which is close to where their course is taught.

All students who are commencing courses in January 2012 will be contacted with an offer of accommodation by no later than Friday, 2 December 2011. Students commencing a Nursing course in March 2012 will be contacted with an offer of accommodation by no later than Friday, 10 February 2012. In the case of new Nursing students, those living outside Merseyside will be given priority for any rooms in Marybone in the first instance.

When we offer you accommodation, the owner will send you further instructions by Email. This will explain how to complete the booking of the room, including making an initial payment of up to £250. It is important to follow these instructions promptly as failure to do so may lead to your room being allocated to another student.  If you are unable to make the initial payment within 7 days of receiving the room offer you should contact the LJMU Accommodation Office for advice on your options.

If you will be studying Nursing and you have not yet applied for your student funding, you should do so as soon as possible.  UK students should log on to this section of the Directgov website and follow the instructions there.
