There's No Business Like SNOW Business
The implosion of the housing market could have signalled the death for many architectural practices, but as Directors of SNOW Architects two LJMU alumni Dave Cornett and Kevin Shields are proving a life exists beyond the troubled market which includes some exciting opportunities.
SNOW have been successful in winning planning approvals for some major projects such as the 13 apartments at Prescot Road and 80 new homes in St Helens and have recently submitted a revised application for a £12m mixed use development in Duke Street, Liverpool. Their range of projects extends into numerous sectors including the hotel industry, student accommodation, industrial units and community, private and commercial residential.
Construction alumnus Dave said; ‘The industry we work in, like so many others, has been affected by the economic downturn and as a result has become more competitive. When we are competing for new work we always focus on quality as well as price. This leads to better design and construction together with a higher quality service’.
The approach SNOW takes is one reason why they are a RIBA Chartered Practice and that Dave recently won the BNI Award for "Best Construction Service Provider" and was shortlisted for the Downtown Liverpool in Business LiverCOOL awards for "Property Professional of the Year".
