Thesis Of The Year For LJMU Alumnus

Dr Cherdchai Phosri, LJMU Microbiology alumnus from 2004 was recently awarded with the accolade of the best thesis in the discipline of Agriculture and Biology at the National Research Council of Thailand's 'Thesis of the Year 2009 Awards'.

Thirty-five thesis titles from other disciplines were also recognised by the National Research Council of Thailand.

Dr Phosri who currently works at Rajabhat Pibulsongkram University, won the award in Agriculture and Biology for his thesis entitled ‘Characterisation and Development of Tropical Gasteromycete Fungi in Ectomycorrhizal Associations’.

The thesis relates to his research which he undertook when he studied at PhD level in the School of Mycology with Professor Anthony Whalley at Liverpool John Moores University.

Dr Phosri is pictured with his award at the recent annual Thai Alumni Dinner and Friends evening in Bangkok.
