Thai Alumni Dinner
On Saturday 20th February 50 guests gathered in the Pimarnman Room at the Four Seasons Hotel, Bangkok for the 7th annual 'LJMU Thai Alumni and Friends Dinner'.
Pleased to be amongst familiar faces Professor of Mycology, Tony Whalley opened the evening with a warm welcome before LJMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Brown shared details of the University’s recent progress including its World of Work initiative, the first group of WOW Certificate holders and the plans for the future including the continued investment in campus facilities.
The evening gave Thai alumni the opportunity to meet with LJMU Regional Director for SE Asean, Jeffery Soong and Alumni Relations Manager Mark Williams and discuss plans to launch a Thai Alumni Committee during the next 12 months. The proposed Committee is to be the second established in South East Asia following the successful launch of Malaysian Alumni Committee in 2009.
After a sumptuous dinner the eagerly awaited lucky draw took place. A plethora of LJMU goodies and a replica home Liverpool FC shirt were given to the lucky winners.
The evening was thoroughly enjoyable with alumni happy to meet up and share stories about their time at LJMU.
