Employability Support For LJMU Graduates
LJMU have appointed a dedicated Careers Adviser based in the Graduate Development Centre to assist unemployed graduates living on Merseyside. Andy Byrne has over 10 years experience within the Careers Service at LJMU and is a qualified HR Practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. One aspect of Andy's role is to explore the options available to graduates and improve their employability.
Employability is a skill that people look to develop throughout their working lives and employers are generally interested in enthusiastic individuals that want to progress within their organisation. Whatever stage you are at in your career it is important to regularly check that your skills are up to date, to reflect upon these skills and have the ability to articulate them. Self-awareness is essential when applying for jobs and useful within the work place.
Andy is available to meet graduates on a one-to-one basis to discuss career options and investigate the wide range of support LJMU has available at the Graduate Development Centre. The support services include one-to-one careers advice, help with CVs, applications and interviews, a range of careers-related workshops and publications, in addition to accessing LJMU’s vacancy website.
Whether you are a recent graduate, looking for your first graduate job, or an experienced graduate looking to for further advice please call Andy Byrne on 0151 231 8190 or email a.j.byrne@ljmu.ac.uk to discuss the support that may be available to you.
