Alumni Writing Competition

The LJMU Alumni Prize Launched

Fountain PenAre you passionate about writing? Would you like the opportunity to have you work published online? Did you graduate from Liverpool John Moores University of one of its former incarnations?

If the answer to each of the above questions is yes then LJMU may have just the competition for you. The Development & Alumni Relations Office are supporting final year English student Rhiannon Reece with one of her modules. Rhiannon has devised an inaugural writing competition exclusively for our alumni that gives budding writers the chance to win £100 cash and the latest iPod touch.

The topic for the competition is 'Writing In The Sand' and the word limit is 500 words prose.

Competition launches on the 28th June 2010 with the deadline for entries on 30th September 2010. Judging will be headed by former LJMU academic and Chair of Judges Jenny Newman. Jenny's previous work includes a breadth of novels, short stories and journal articles.

Full competition criteria and a cover sheet are available via the links. Entry is free and can be done via email or post. The winner will be announced on alumni website in late October 2010.

Questions regarding the competition can be directed to alumni@ljmu.ac.uk.

Best of luck, we look forward to receiving your entries.
