1970's Liverpool Polytechnic Reunion
Were you taught Law by Cyril Maundy, English by Joan Godfrey or Economics by Derek Ratledge? Did you study BA General or another course at Liverpool Polytechnic in Tithebarn Street during the 1970’s? Do you remember the ‘Poly Bar's’ darts team?
If you did, then you are welcome to join fellow ex-students of Liverpool Polytechnic on Saturday 25th September from 7.00pm on the 1st Floor of The Ship and Mitre pub on Dale Street, Liverpool.
Sue Doris, Tony Ashmore, Mary Heffernan, Elaine Stewart and Jackie Wood are founder members of the reunion and are in touch with ex-Liverpool Polytechnic students who will travel from the length and breadth of the UK, Ireland and the USA to attend the event. If you are an ex-student who is still in Liverpool you are welcome to come and give our visitors a warm welcome!
Confirmed numbers are growing and although the ‘Poly Bar’ is now a car park The Ship and Mitre should be an excellent venue. For those who can remember The Ship and Mitre was the pub with the typewriters on the shelf in the back room.
The pub sells excellent real ale downstairs and the kitchen will be open for those who wish to order food individually. The reunion has exclusive access to the beautiful art deco room upstairs, where guests can chat.
Please bring yourself and any old pictures to add to the display of photographs and memories of student life in the 1970’s. The more embarrassing the better!
Questions regarding the reunion can be directed to Jackie on 0794 415 9057 or jackie@themagicofmemories.co.uk.
It should be a fun evening.
