About Us

What do we do?

You might think that being part of the Alumni community is about reconnecting with your past ... the friendships, experiences and places that shaped so much of who you are now. But we think that more importantly it's about looking to the future - reigniting your relationship with LJMU and working in partnership for the benefit of our students and the wider community.

The LJMU Alumni Association isn’t just about reunions and getting in touch with people you’ve lost, it’s about forging new relationships through our events programme and our news communications. It’s about providing you a service; about LJMU not just supporting you as a student, but helping you as a graduate as well.

We offer a range of benefits and services, which range from retail and culinary discounts to access to business e-journals if you are interested in keeping abreast of current research relevant to your graduate employment. We also offer free careers services and courses as well as discounted access to university facilities like meeting rooms which may come in handy for your next work away day!

In addition we are always looking for alumni and local employers to support our World of Work ® Programme – LJMUs unique and pioneering employability programme. There are lots of ways to get involved from guest talks, to practice interviews and providing placements.

LJMU alumni are a very important part of the larger LJMU community. We want to work with you to tailor and deliver events and services that you will find really useful and to forge partnerships that will benefit both you and the University. We are ready and waiting for you to get involved, at any level. If you have a suggestion, let us know or if you want to take a more active role in setting up a professional network or social reunion/event then speak to us.
