Imagine the most fabulous and prestigious building in the world, but without its services – no lighting, heating, ventilation, plumbing or power supply; no lifts or escalators, energy management systems and no security and safety systems. Everything that makes a building safe, comfortable and habitable comes under the umbrella of ‘Building Services’. We need buildings not simply to provide us with shelter – buildings should be environments in which we can live, work and achieve in comfort and safety. Building Services are what brings buildings to life.
Professionals in the field of Building Services Engineering are concerned with the design and installation of systems like heating, lighting, power, lifts, ventilation and everything that affects internal environments in buildings of all sizes and types. Building Services Engineering Project Management is a branch of Building Services Engineering in which professional engineers must apply both technical and managerial knowledge.
