Chronic Pain
Source localisation for Laser-Evoked Potentials
The neural dynamics involved in the perception of chronic pain is a topical area of research. Work lead by our group in close collaboration with an Arthritis Research Campaign funded project at Hope Hospital, Manchester, has mapped out multiple 3-D sources from EEG measurements. This is the first time that doublet sources have been successfully located using EEG, opening–up the possibility of time-resolved modelling of neural dynamics which is not possible with standard imaging modalities.
