Interiors

ADP Interiors have been appointed to do the interior design of the building. They have previously worked on Aston Business School and Bournemouth Screen Academy.

A consultant was appointed as part of the Design Team to assist the University with the completion of the AV specification. Joe McGlynn, from the Faculty of Business and Law has led the development of the AV specification.

The following milestones have been set for the development of the interior design:

  • Staff and Student Focus Groups - Completed November 2009
  • Approval of building finishes and colours - Approved by Project Board December 2009
  • Furniture Showroom Visits - Took place March 2010
  • Initial furniture choices agreed with User Groups - Agreed May 2010
  • AV and Furniture Open Day for Staff & Students - Took place July 2010
  • Specifications Refined Based on End User Feedback - Completed September 2010
  • Building Open Day - Took place December 2010
  • Procurement Process - March to December 2011
  • Project Board approves final spending plans - January 2012
  • Fit Out Period - May to July 2012

Layouts for the building were frozen in December 2010. This was to allow time to plan the power and data provision to the building.

At the Open Day in December 2010, staff who attended received a presentation from the architect, and were able to pick up copies of the draft furniture and AV specifications, and the layouts.
