Karen originally joined the University (which was then Liverpool Polytechnic) in 1979 working as a clerical assistant within the Science Department in Byrom Street, from there she joined the Computer Education Centre as an administrator. This centre was responsible for training teachers for the introduction of computers in schools. Karen was in the post for 8 years before moving to I.M. Marsh.
Karen first came to I.M. Marsh as an Administration Assistant in admissions and then Secretary to one of Deptuy Directors with the School of Education here at I.M. Marsh.
In the early 1990s Karen was appointed the Senior Work-Related Learning Administrator responsible for school experience placements and was involved in the initial setting up of the ‘Partnership with Schools’ Scheme. As this has grown Karen’s remit is to liaise with schools and colleges securing placements for both Primary and Secondary students and deal with the administration associated with the placement of students and liaison tutors for Work Based Learning.
