Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at IM Marsh
Established as one of the 74 HEFCE-funded Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, LJMU’s Centre for Excellence in Leadership and Professional Learning addresses the themes of employability, leadership and enterprise. The CETL is based within the Faculty of Education, Community and Leisure and more specifically within the subjects of Sport, Dance,Physical Education and Outdoor Education.
The over-arching aim of the CETL is to develop existing innovative approaches to work-related learning, to enhance students' employability, leadership and entrepreneurial skills. In developing curriculum approaches that promote good learning for employability, the CETL’s primary aim is to enable students to become ‘leading learners’ who are also ‘learning to lead’. A strong focus of the work being undertaken is on ICT and how through these mediums learning can be enhanced and developed.
Underpinning all the work is a research ethos, where not only do we carry out innovative approaches to learning, but we also evaluate the impact and then disseminate this to others. We aim to model good practice which then can be shared and used by others.
