Faye Johnson

Faye joined LJMU at the I M Marsh Campus in 2005 when she was 17 as a trainee office assistant whilst completing an NVQ in Business Administration. On completion of her NVQ in 2006, Faye was employed as the faculty’s PE ITT Network Administrator.

Faye is now employed as a Work Related Learning Placement Administrator and is part of the Work Related Learning Unit at I M Marsh.

The Unit’s remit is to liaise with external agencies/employers to source and maintain student work placement opportunities, an increasing area of activity since the University adopted the LJMU+ initiative whereby work placement activity forms an integral part of all its programmes.

The team’s main focus includes arranging and supporting the faculty’s student work placements within businesses and schools and ensuring that the CRB requirements for students are met. The team works with many external organisations and schools in addition to colleagues across the Faculty and organises placements each year for more than 2000 students, many of whom require multiple placements.

Faye provides a high level of administrative support to the WRL Unit and other associated projects including the Mentor Recognition & Accreditation course and has been involved with the administration for the cluster based mentor training programme for Secondary School/College Mentors.
