Bérnard Pierre-Louis
Bérnard received a sabbatical to visit the Limon Institute in New York to assist in his research into diverse methods and approaches in delivering studio practice. He is currently pursuing an MA focusing upon the impact of Pulse/rhythm, movement and physicality of the body. After completing his studies at Laban, Bérnard enjoyed a career as a performer with companies and artists including Transitions, Danse Franchise, Theatre of Motion, 4Tet, Alex ‘B’ Tanz Theatre (Berlin) and Randall Scott ensemble (Nederlands). As a choreographer, he has been commissioned by the Royal Opera House Education Unit, Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, MDI, Lowry, Cumbria arts and JMUpstart Dance Company (Edinburgh Fringe09) based at LJMU. He is frequently invited to guest and deliver professional dance workshops throughout the UK and across Europe. Bérnard is a Senior Lecturer at LJMU focusing in the delivery of studio practice (Limon based principles), choreography, music accompaniment and Jazz performance.
