CEORG (Coherent & Electro-Optics)

Coherent and Electro-Optics Research Group - Sub-Division Of GERI

The Coherent and Electro-Optics Research Group (CEORG) at Liverpool John Moores University was founded in 1972 and expanded to be one of the most successful research groups at the University.

It has an international reputation for its contributions in the fields of fringe pattern analysis, applied optics, precision measurement and computer vision.

In August 2002 CEORG, along with two other existing research groups from the School Of Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University, amalgamated to form GERI.

Both historically and currently much of the research activity has been funded by the European Commission (under programmes such as as ESPRIT, BRITE-EURAM and BIOMED), by National Government (from the EPSRC and the Teaching Company Directorate) and locally (from the Merseyside Objective 1 funds and local industry).

Currently the group has two professors, some members of the academic staff and associated research fellows, research assistants and research students.

Over fifty research students have gained Ph.D.'s and other higher degrees from the Coherent and Electro-Optics Research Group.

The group has produced hundreds of publications in learned journals and at conferences
