Support and guidance
To get you started using Microsoft SharePoint, we have developed a comprehensive support model.
Stage 1: Initial meeting(s)
We will arrange a meeting at a mutually convenient time during which an overview of SharePoint will be given. This overview will cover all of the main areas of interest, such as document libraries, lists, alerts, announcements, permissions and so on. If you have any queries please feel free to ask. Following this meeting, a training area will be created which will allow you to go and further investigate what SharePoint has to offer.
Stage 2: Site Owner training
Once you've decided how you'd like to use SharePoint, we will then provide Site Owner Training, during which comprehensive advice will be given on creating and maintaining sites, applying permissions, managing users, creating alerts and so on.
Stage 3: Site creation
We'll then create the site for you - document libraries, initial user groups and so on ready for....
Stage 4: Handover and ongoing support
Once the site has been created, we'll then hand it over to you, the site owner. Whilst the site then becomes your responsibility, CIS will still provide support to ensure the smooth running of your SharePoint site. Initial support queries should in the first instance be directed to the PLN Helpdesk.
Comprehensive documentation will be available aimed at both site owners and also general users of the site.
