Activate your account using the online wizard
To access the computing facilities, you must first activate your computing account.
Using an LJMU PC
After you've enrolled, go to your local Library or Computing Centre, ensuring you have your student registration card with you. Go to any of the computers available, where you'll be able to activate your account using a simple step by step process. Full details are provided on screen, and should you get stuck at any stage, a member of staff will be on hand to help.
Using your own PC (on or off campus)
After you've enrolled, if you can't get to use one of our PCs, you can activate your account over the web.
- Go to the LJMU student homepage (http://www.ljmu.ac.uk/student/)
- Click on activate/change password, then click on Activate Account.
- Follow the simple on screen instructions, using the green arrow to proceed to the next step. You'll need to enter your barcode number, so make sure you have your student registration card handy.
In the unlikely event you encounter a problem, please contact Library and Student Support team who will be able to help you.
Whichever method you've used to activate your account, once you've accepted the terms and conditions of computer usage, your account will be activated, and after a short delay, you'll be able to log in and get started. Please remember, the password you chose is only valid for 60 days after which time you will be prompted to choose another.
Please note: It is a disciplinary offence to use another person's computing account or give your password to someone else to use.
