Creating Off campus access to video content via Blackboard
Due to copyright restrictions, video is only available on the university campus. The following is a description of how staff can make video available to students off campus using Blackboard.
Videos must be eligible and not restricted under the "College Campus" agreement.
Step 1: Ensure that the video is listed on the Network Video pages
- Go to the Network Video home page
- After locating the video in the appropriate category, note the filename (this will end in .wmv). For example, myfile.wmv
Step 2: Create a valid URL within Blackboard
- Go to the appropriate area within Blackboard and add an external link by appending the filename to the URL mms://vod.ljmu.ac.uk/bbvideo/
- For example: mms://vod.ljmu.ac.uk/bbvideo/myfile.wmv
The video will now be accessible off campus via Blackboard
