Network video
Welcome to the network video service
The network video service allows online video and audio to be uploaded onto the University’s computer network and made available both on and off campus.
By default, material is restricted to members of the University. However, video can also be made available to anyone, particularly useful for marketing and advertising media. Usually copyright will determine which of these options is appropriate.
To view an on demand video from the list, simply click on
View in Media Player.
What software do I need to have installed?
A computer with an internet connection, and running Windows Media Player 9 or higher or a media player which supports the Windows Media 9 codec. All networked Windows XP PCs within the university have Media Player already installed. If you view videos from Off Campus, Windows Media Player is available if required free of charge from the Microsoft web site.
Can’t find the programme you are looking for?
Network Video programmes are arranged alphabetically in the subject categories listed. For further help finding a programme try keyword searching the Library Catalogue Video and DVD collection. Once you have found the title select the Electronic Location link to watch the programme. Search the Library Catalogue
Please note: the Network Video Service is not suitable for use via the Off Campus Applications (CITRIX) service.
