Organisational Role and Responsibilities
Carol is a Senior Lecturer in Law on the Legal Practice Course. She is LPC Subject Leader in Civil Litigation. She is also part of the teaching team on Interviewing & Advising and Employment.
External Roles
She is a member of the Housing Law Practitioners Association and was a Peer Reviewer for the Legal Services Commission until 2005.
Biography
Carol studied at Chester College of Law, and trained as a solicitor with Sheffield City Council. On qualification in 1992 she moved into private practice as a civil litigator. From there she became Solicitor to Manchester Central Citizens Advice Bureau, and organised the bureau for a successful Legal Aid franchise bid.
She then worked abroad with V.S.O., providing litigation support to a legal team working on environmental issues. On her return, she caught up with English law at a Law Centre, working mainly on housing litigation and employment cases, and organising training in association with Shelter.
