Organisational role and responsibilities:

Sean is the subject leader for Interviewing & Advising and PCR and on the teaching teams for Civil Litigation, Client in the Community and Solicitors’ Accounts. As well as teaching on the LPC, he also teaches on the GDL on which he is subject leader for English Legal System.

Biography: 

Sean qualified as a solicitor in 1996 after an earlier career in the advice sector, specialising in welfare rights. Between 1990 and 1997 he was a member of the editorial board and contributed articles to the Adviser. On qualifying, he worked in a legal aid practice in Leeds dealing with family, personal injury and housing cases. He then crossed the Pennines and, after a short period with a Law Centre in Runcorn, joined one of the leading legal aid firms in Liverpool where he established and headed their housing department from 1999 to 2007. He is a member of North West Housing Law Group. He maintains links with practice through carrying out independent file reviews of housing cases undertaken by solicitors and trainees at a local advice service.
