Organisational Role and Responsibilities

I am the Course Leader of the LLB Law and Criminal Justice course and a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Justice.  I am module leader for the Criminal Law and Criminal Justice and Crimes of the Powerful modules.

Biography

I hold a degree in Law from Merton College, Oxford (1998), an MA in Applied Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Wales, Swansea (2000) and a PhD in Applied Social Studies, also from the University of Wales, Swansea (2005).

Interests

My academic interests include youth justice in England and Wales, particularly youth justice bail services (this was the subject of my PhD thesis), crimes of the powerful (including corporate crime and state crime), and sentencing policy and practice.  I have recently completed a book on criminal law which is specifically targeted at criminal justice students who are studying law for the first time – the book is due to be published in November 2009.
