Teaching -

Dave is module leader for the core Criminal Law modules on the LL.B degrees and for an option module in sexual offences on the LLB and Criminal Justice programmes, and has teaching interests in Foundations and Jurisprudence. He is the subject leader for the Extended Research Project on the GDL.

Administrative - 

Dave Selfe is the Director of the School of Law, and a member of the Faculty Management Team. His many University-wide commitments include membership of the Academic Appeals Panel (of which he is a University Co-Chair), the University Late PMC Panel (of which he is a University Co-Chair), and the University Criminal Convictions Panel. He is the Chair of the University’s Assessment Regulations Working Group. He is actively involved in complaints and disciplinary procedures for both the Student Policy and Regulation Team, and the University’s HR department.

External Roles -

David has a wide experience as an External Examiner, and is currently External at the University of Glamorgan and Sheffield University. He is a Consultant Editor for the journal Current Criminal Law, and a Joint Academic Stage Board (JASB) representative on behalf of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board.

Research Interests -

David’s main research interests are in Criminal Law, specifically sexual offences. His most recent publications have been on rape, assault and sexual assault.
