Research Interests -
Sarah’s main research interests are where there is intersectionality between gender and the law. She is particularly interested in the social and legal regulation of motherhood and is currently studying for a PhD in this area. The aim of Sarah’s thesis is to generate new insights and original knowledge into the treatment of women who kill their children by both courts and the prison system. She adopts interdisciplinary methodology that draws upon both theoretical and empirical research methods in order to explore the new ways in which sacrificial maternal ideology continues to oppress women.
