Business Information Computer Rooms
The Business Information Computer Rooms are situated on the first floor of the John Foster Building, Liverpool Business School. They provide a cutting edge ICT environment for the provision of instructor led and/or participatory learning.
Three fully networked rooms (IM-Labs 1, 2 and 3) with internet access are linked by their own independently centralised server infrastructure. This autonomy gives the freedom, flexibility and ability to respond quickly to newly emerging technologies. IM-Lab 1 houses 16 student workstations. IM-Lab 2 and IM-Lab 3 contain 14 and 20 student workstations respectively, and are especially suited to workshop activities. The wide range of facilities, including an interactive smart board and audio visual equipment, enables the Business Information Computer Rooms to provide a first class technical training arena.
The Business Information Computer Rooms help provide students with an insight into business information developments and trends through the use of a wide variety of software packages including, Adobe Master Collection, Microsoft’s Office 2007 suite and VMware’s Virtual Server. Additional teaching tools include NetSupport School Tutor, which allows the instructor to monitor and deliver hands-on support remotely as students are learning, providing a truly interactive training experience.
The Business Information Computer Rooms are Microsoft Academy IT program registered. The Microsoft IT Academy helps communities achieve goals for digital literacy, life-long learning, business development, and a highly employable workforce. Students enrolled on the program can pursue a general technology education or follow a path to Microsoft Certification in key technologies.
