Welcome from School Director

Studying in Liverpool has never been so exciting.

Professor Juan Cruz - Acting School Director

Following its hugely successful tenure as European City of Culture in 2008, the city has continued to build on its status as the most significant place for art and design activity in the UK outside London.

Liverpool is constantly under transformation through major building and urban development projects into which our students tie in closely; the city continues to be recognised as a centre of creative energy which provides a background for our courses.

The combination of Tate Liverpool, Liverpool Biennial, FACT, Bluecoat, Philharmonic, RIBA, Uniform and many other leading arts, design and cultural organisations provide an important and productive set of collaborations for our students.

The Liverpool School of Art and Design (LSAD) exploits these real-life possibilities towards research and work-related learning opportunities.

We want you to come and learn, study and research with us. Then we want you to stay with us in Liverpool and contribute towards exploiting the massive potential the city holds, while enjoying the rich opportunities and wonderful quality of life that it already affords.

On behalf of all my colleagues at LSAD, I would like to thank you for your interest in the school and invite you to keep in touch with us either by choosing to study and work with us, or by keeping up with some of the many activities with which we are engaged via our various news and media feeds.
