At a basic level sculpture is the interaction between object and space. The materials and methods I employ are there to reinforce the static, silent nature of its presence. An integral part to the work is the exploration of the boundaries that connect a created image to the space/reality it inhabits.
This aspect can be observed in the presentation of recent drawings, that depict new image directions, where the role of the frame as package and display has been considered, in order to use various stages of perception, contrasting that which is public with the intimacy of the discovered image.
The content in my output has varied over the years, with economy of means underlying the work. In contrast to the hustle and bustle of daily life I aim to create images that are serene and reflective, regardless of scale and placement. |
