Many of my documentary projects take the form of residencies, some of which can last up to two years. They have taken place at :-Blackpool Pleasure Beach ; Granada Television; Chester Roman Amphitheatre; Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospital;
Fully illustrated publications accompanied all of above projects.
Currently I am a member of Artists+ Archaeology working on the Stonehenge Riverside Project looking at the Post Excavation Analysis. Visit: http://www.artistsinarchaeology.org/index.php/projects/work/contributor/julia_midgley
The drawings illustrated here show activity on site at Woodhenge, 2007, and The Avenue, 2008, leading up to Stonehenge itself, as well as two drawings from the Post Excavation Analysis which took place during the summer of 2009. These works formed part of a paper given at Drawing Out – International Trans Disciplinary Conference in Melbourne 2010. Further works from the project were exhibited in “Touchstone” an exhibition of the work made by international artist members of Artists+ Archaeology at Salisbury Museum 2010.
