From an initial training in Fine Art, Joinery and Construction drawing, I have practiced in Spatial Arts through different and overlapping phases. These have included the running of a design and making practice with production facility making furniture and interiors; devising and curating exhibition work; research into advanced manufacturing techniques; running educational construction workshops;  and a teaching partnership with Liverpool Womens Hospital developing proposals for a redeveloped birth suite facility. Core interests and research areas include integration of human habitat design within an ecological framework and approaches to design through making. I’m currently leading modules in design through narrative and final year undergraduate Research. Previous partners in design projects include University of Liverpool Engineering Department, Liverpool Biennial, Squash Nutrition, Community Media Advocacy Platform, Liverpool Womens Hospital. I am an associate of the Higher Education Academy and hold a PG Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education from LJMU.
