Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October 2011
Albert Dock 11am – 4pm

Sail back in time as fascinating tales are unearthed and performed where they happened, at the docks so steeped in a wealth of history…

This dynamic collection of atmospheric performances that represent 19th Century life around the docks of Liverpool will form part of the Liverpool Irish Festival. Performances will take place on the hour every hour on, and around the one of Liverpool’s most magnificent assets – the Zebu Tall Ship, which is moored at the Albert Dock.
Presented by Hope Street Limited, this collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University Drama will bring true stories to life through a range of dramatic styles to entertain audiences around the water’s edge.
Director Paula Simms explained

“Today, we can all relate to the emotions and topics that these performances address. This, along with the fantastic backdrop for our work to be displayed makes it an exciting prospect for all involved.”

Hope Street Limited has been producing theatrical spectaculars in unusual places for over 20 years. They have performed interactive street theatre to audiences of over 30,000. They specialise in highly original performances that engage all ages with their use of striking visual imagery, music and comedy whilst maintaining the very highest production values.

Come and join in the ‘craic’ with family and friends whilst exploring the roots of the city as we know it today.
