This MCA approved course has been developed to meet the needs of Deck Officers and seafarers who are the designated fire fighting operations controllers.  The course covers fire awareness and safety procedures, command, control and organisation of fire fighting teams, inspection of fire fighting equipment and extinguishers, investigation and reports on fire incidents.

The course is both theoretical and practical with an emphasis on the delegate's ability to communicate, take command and successfully control fire fighting operations both at sea and in port.

Duration:  4 days

Standard:  STCW95 A-VI/3

Entry requirements: 

  • Basic fire fighting course
  • minimum 6 months at sea

Issue of certificate:  Delegates will be continually assessed throughout the course
