TED event at the ICDC
13 August 2009
The International Centre for Digital Content (ICDC), in association with Codeworks and Kisky NetMedia, held the north of England’s first TEDx event last week: TEDxLiverpool.
With a mix of recorded TED talks (including Sir Ken Robinson) and live speakers under the topic of creativity, the event proved to be an entertaining and interesting show.
Live speakers included Steve Clayton of Microsoft who brought Microsoft Surface along - providing lots of amusement for the delegates at coffee break.
This was followed by Alex Deschamps Sonsino from Tinker.it! who spoke passionately about designing new products using one of her more successful products, Arduino boards.
Alison Gow, Digital Executive Editor of Liverpool Daily Post & Echo, wrapped up the proceedings with a controversial talk about the future of journalism - provoking an honest and interesting Q&A.
ICDC would like to thank the speakers and Bubblino, who added an element of fun for the ‘tweeters’ in the audience.
Praise is also due to Liverpool’s technology industry, who made up the majority of the audience, for their support and help in creating a real positive atmosphere at the event - which left many delegates buzzing with ideas and enthusiasm.
The TEDxLiverpool event was the first in a series across the north of England.
