‘Love is Infectious’- Eesy Peesy Film Competition
Liverpool’s young film makers are being given the chance to create their own movie and see it premiered at FACT. (http://www.fact.co.uk/)
Liverpool NHS Provider Services, NHS Wirral and NHS Knowsley have teamed up to challenge young people to get creative and submit ideas for a film about Chlamydia and the importance of responsible sexual health.
The ‘Love is Infectious’ competition is open to all 16 to 24-year-olds and is part of the Eesy Peesy campaign to educate young people about Chlamydia screening. Chlamydia is the fastest spreading Sexually Transmitted Infection and 10% of 15-24 year olds who are tested have the infection.
A spokesperson for the Love is Infectious campaign said “With most old sex education videos now being outdated and irrelevant, we want to let young people tell us exactly what they want to see. We want their ideas on how best to spread the message about sexual health to their peers, in a way which suits them.”
The winning idea will be transformed into a professional film with the help of LJMU's Liverpool Screen School, and premiered at a launch night at FACT.
Second place prize is portable DVD player courtesy of Sony and a year-long membership to FACT, as well as a VIP tour around the current exhibition.
Entrants are invited to submit their ideas either by script or storyboard, or they can film a rough version of their idea on camera or their mobile phone, and send it on a dvd or upload it to youtube (and send us the link).
The deadline is 30 October 2009. More information is available at http://www.eesypeesytesting.nhs.uk/
