Volunteering experiences

15 September 2009

Do you want to gain experience working with children and young people?

LJMU Volunteering will be working with local schools and organisations to support and raise the aspirations of local children and young people. They will be doing this through a number of projects such as mentoring, reading and numeracy support workshops and enterprise days. This could be a great opportunity for students who are looking to do a PGCE or work with children and young people in the future. Working with children and young people can be extremely rewarding and can be something you can do and enjoy alongside your degree.

Whether you see a future career in this area or not these projects give a great deal of learning and work experience that will inevitably boost your CV. Wherever possible LJMU Volunteering will offer you training and accreditation to ensure that you get the most out of the opportunity and feel confident whist doing it.

If this is something that you have been looking for then get in touch. Volunteering will keep you up to date with all their upcoming projects and can offer you support and advice wherever possible.

If you are interested or have any further questions please contact Lucy McGrath (Volunteer Manager) on 0151 231 3850 or email volunteering@ljmu.ac.uk
