Students organise nursing conference
16 September 2009
Level 3 Nursing students and student mentors from the Faculty of Health and Applied Social Sciences organised the Second Student Nurse conference last week, entitled ‘Making the Change from Student to Staff Nurse: Transitions’.
The varied conference programme featured many prominent speakers and provided an informative and interesting day for the 200 nursing students who attended.
Frances Colbron, head of the Faculty’s Student Mentoring Service, and academic lead for the conference, commended the student organising committee for their hard work and commitment, commenting: “These students have The WoW factor. The skills gained in organising this conference are transferable into the workplace, and this experience adds value to the student in higher education.”
