How do you travel to work?

Complete the travel survey and make sure your views are heard – and be in with a chance to win a prize.

LJMU will shortly be launching a travel survey for all staff and students.

This is your opportunity to have your say about car parking, cycling, walking and public transport provision.

There will be a separate survey for staff and students and the surveys will be in a user-friendly online format.

The survey is an integral part of the travel planning process for LJMU and its objective is to get baseline data on staff and student travel patterns:

  • what mode of transport you are using and why?
  • what the benefits and barriers are of different modes of travel and what improvements/changes would you would like to see?

What happens after the survey?

During 2009/2010 Infrastructure Planning is reviewing the approach to travel planning for LJMU, with separate campus plans being prepared.  In addition a full review of the Car Park Policy is due to take place.  The results of these surveys are therefore important to us in setting the background to this work and providing essential information for campus developments.

The main objectives of the Travel Plan are:

  • To improve access to all LJMU buildings.
  • To ease the car parking problems at the University.
  • To put measures in place to reduce the negative impact on the environment by encouraging the use of sustainable modes of transport.
  • To reduce the number of single occupant car journeys and car dependency.
