27 November 2009
LJMU is working with Everton Football Club to help 18 to 35-year-old men get fit and healthy.
The Premier League Men's Health project takes place at LJMU's Everton Active family centre at Goodison Park. The innovative three-year development project is funded by The New Football Pools and the Pfizer Foundation. The project is supported by The Everton Foundation and LJMU's School of Sport and Exercise Sciences.
The programme explore all aspects of men’s health including their diet, physical activity and their perception towards physical activity and lifestyle balance. It aims to devise and evaluate appropriate exercise programmes utilising a range of quantitative and qualitative measures. The Men’s Health Co-ordinator, Kathryn Dunn, works alongside experienced community football coaches at The Everton Foundation and existing research and project managers based at the Everton Active Family Centre.
