Recycling reminder

01 March 2010

LJMU is committed to recycling as much of our waste as possible. Staff and students are reminded of their responsibility to recycle where possible.

For information, the following is a list of recycling units available and the procedures to be followed. Please note, all recycling units will now contain clear recycling bags.

Plastic: Yellow bins

Cans: Red bins

Paper: White boxes with clear bags. When the bags are half full, remove and place next to box for removal by cleaners or GAs.

Cardboard: Small amounts of cardboard may be flattened and placed next to general waste bins for removal. Large amounts should be flattened and the appropriate facilities supervisor should be contacted to arrange removal.

Glass: Containers are available at most buildings. Bottles should be washed before depositing in recycling unit.

Batteries: Batteries may be placed in containers available at reception/security desks.

If you require further information or advice, please contact Alun Thomas, Recycling and Waste Manager on 5731 or at a.thomas@ljmu.ac.uk
