LJMU Professor trains BBC presenter

Professor Greg Whyte of the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is training Christine Bleakley of The One Show as she prepares to water ski across the Channel to raise funds for Sport Relief.
Greg is putting together Christine’s complete training programme, both on and off the water. She started the programme in October and Greg has been co-ordinating how long she is on the water and sets her targets and works on her strength and cardio-vascular endurance.
Christine was due to water ski the Channel tomorrow (Wednesday) but due to a poor weather forecast, Greg now thinks the feat will take place on Thursday or Friday.
He commented: “Christine’s chances are now really good. It is a very tough challenge but she’s worked really hard and we had a good ski last Friday in good weather conditions so it bodes very well.”
