LJMU Spring Dance Festival

LJMU Dance department are proud to be launching their first ever festival of dance this month, between 22 March and 26 March.
The event is the culmination of work created and facilitated by the Dance students, and mentored by Dance staff and visiting artists as part of work-based learning, performance, leadership skills, choreography, technology and performance modules.
Students across three years of the programme have transferred skills of creativity, performance, project management and leadership styles to create the programme of events for week. Their festival offers a breadth of activities and networking opportunities, bringing together some of the key support agencies in dance and business from all over the North West to support the event.
During the week there are workshops from professional dance artists and performance works created by undergraduate students in the Sudley Theatre, Egg Dance Studio and numerous site-specific locations around the IM Marsh Campus.
The mid part of the festival is the Dance Graduate Marketplace, a consultancy day to support all aspects of employability for final year undergraduates and dance graduates from all over the North of the UK.
The end of the festival week celebrates the work of LJMU Dance, and its close supportive relationships with the dance industry, through a performance of work by: Taciturn, Jamie Bolan, Moviemum, Laura Newman and Jo Ashbridge (LJMU graduates), GODS Dance group and selected undergraduate choreographies - plus the work of its CETL supported projects JMUpstart Dance Company and JMUp IN(tegrated) Dance Company.
The evening performance ,which will be held at Liverpool's Black-E venue (near China town), again recognises the close industrial partner relationships LJMU Dance students develop.
