LJMU graduate has the Wright Stuff
01 July 2010
Cath Bore, who graduates this year with an MA in Writing, will be guest reviewer on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff daily chat show Friday 2 July.
Cath will be taking part in the show’s monthly Wright Stuff Reads slot at 9.15am, discussing ‘Obstacles to Young Love’ by Reginald Perrin creator David Nobbs.
“Taking part in Wright Stuff Reads is part of my identity as a writer,” says Cath. “On the MA in Writing it was pressed home to us by our tutors Jim Friel and Alicia Stubbersfield how important it is to build and maintain a writerly profile.”
Cath’s profile is already pretty impressive. Her short story ‘Past Glories’ was selected by a panel of award-winning writers, Esther Wilson (The Street, Ten Tiny Toes), Leigh Campbell (Unhinged, Best Newcomer at London Film Festival) and Ann Monks (writer for television and Radio 4), to be made into a film by First Take and is currently in post-production.
She is currently completing her debut novel featuring the Liverpool PI Constance Ward. In addition to her fiction writing, Cath is also a radio presenter, producer and Station Manager at Halton Community Radio 92.3FM.
