Staff on the move
05 July 2010
A large number of staff will be moving over the coming months. The moves will consolidate the Faculty of Health and Applied Social Sciences in two key locations, Tithebarn Street and the Henry Cotton Building. The majority of University central administration departments will also be relocated to one of two locations, Kingsway House or LJMU Tower.
Moves are already underway to relocate the Faculty of Health and Applied Social Sciences to levels three and four of the Henry Cotton Building. These moves will be completed by 18 July. The remaining Faculty staff will be relocated to Tithebarn Street during July.
Once these moves are completed the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of Kingsway House will undergo minor refurbishment works to ensure that they meet the needs of the departments moving there between September and December 2010.
To ensure continuity of service, the departmental moves to Kingsway House will be completed floor by floor over this four month period, starting with the:
- 5th floor and Academic Enhancement and training facilities, then the
- 3rd floor and Human Resources, Corporate Services including Health and Safety and Student Policy and Regulation, then the
- 4th floor and Finance, Development Funding and Research, and then finally the
- 2nd floor and the Business Development Centre, International Development, Student Recruitment and Widening Access teams
The new Planning and Information team will be co-located within LJMU Tower in the autumn. The Procurement Team will relocate to LJMU Tower in December 2010.
Further moves are planned for 2 Rodney Street; details will be posted on News Update over the coming months.
All moves will be managed by LJMU’s in-house team and where possible existing furniture and equipment is being reused. Such a large scale relocation programme will be a major undertaking for all staff involved. It is hoped that disruptions will be kept to a minimum but everyone is asked to be patient until the moves are completed.
