Recognising Outstanding Good Citizens

07 July 2010

On Friday 2 July, LJMU’s Roscoe Foundation for Citizenship held its Award Ceremony for Liverpool secondary schools. The Good Citizenship Awards recognise contributions and altruistic work undertaken by individuals from different cultures and communities within our society.

Lord Alton of Liverpool and LJMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Michael Brown hosted the event, and also in attendance was Michael Wafer from Wafer Phillips Solicitors who sponsored one of the awards.

Professor Brown praised the recipients saying: “This event is about acknowledging the wonderful things that you have done for your communities in order to encourage you but most important to encourage others to follow your lead".

In addition to receiving their Good Citizen certificates, the winners were given a signed copy of John Minnion’s Pool of Life book, presented by the author himself.
