Liverpool Pride 2010

10 August 2010

Liverpool Pride 2010 will see Liverpool city transform into a Rainbow Circus on the weekend beginning Saturday 7 August to celebrate its first official Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride festival. The event is expected to attract up to 20,000 visitors.

The festival will celebrate the diverse community that exists in Liverpool. The festival will kick off with a parade leaving from St George’s Plateau at midday on Saturday and will make its way through the city centre to the main festival site at Exchange Flags and the Dale Street area. Staff and students are invited to join in on the march, where LJMU's LGBT Network members will be carrying their Staff and Students Out and Proud banner and wearing Out and Proud T-shirts.

A wide range of live entertainment will also be available throughout the day, including a selection of musical acts over three stages, street performers, outrageous circus sideshows and a host of market and refreshment stalls.
