Open Labs brings ‘Jelly’ to Liverpool

23 August 2010

Jelly is a casual work event where everyone's invited. It's for anyone who'd like to work alongside other creative people in a welcoming environment. In summary, it is a group of people getting together to work in a different environment from their usual one, whether it be freelancers, homeworkers or just people who want a change of scenery.

Some Jellies are in people's homes (that's how it started), others are in coffee shops and businesses. You bring your laptop and some work, and Jelly provides wifi, a table and chair, and smart people to bounce ideas off and collaborate with.

There is no specific criterion to participate in JellyLiverpool, you can visit for the day or just drop in for an hour or 2 - it’s completely up to you.

Open Labs want to encourage a lot more to attend, and to spread the word in Liverpool to attract artists, graphic designers, or anyone else who works remotely or independently. Tell your friends and colleagues - the greater the range of attendees, the more interesting JellyLiverpool become?

Open Labs are intending to hold JellyLiverpool the first Thursday in each month - the next one will be on Thursday 2 September 2010 at the Bluecoat. They’ll be there from 9am and anyone is invited to join in.

If you are interested, please add your name to the list of attendees with a little bit about what you do. And why not join JellyLiverpool on Facebook?

If you want to take a look at the kind of people who turned up to the first JellyLiverpool visit the Open Labs blog.

For further information please contact Open Lab's Director, Lindsay Sharples: l.h.sharples@ljmu.ac.uk or 0151 231 4747.
