Creative Writing film success

LJMU Creative Writing graduate James Shaw’s film 'What's It All About' (Clapperboard UK2012) recently won Best Short Film at The Cinemagic Awards in Belfast.

It also won Best Film at Clapperboard's own awards. The film is about a young man called Anthony who is desperate to find employment and finds himself working as a clown.

James graduated with first class honours in 2010. He is multi-talented as a musician, filmmaker, poet and playwright. He is a member of the acclaimed band 'The Elementals' and has read his poetry in venues such as The Bluecoat and Didsbury Arts Festival.

Last year James wrote and directed a play, 'Firearms and Fingertips', which was critically acclaimed, receiving excellent reviews.
