Egerton Court car park

Access improvements to Egerton Court will begin on the 12 January 2009, with works due to be completed by April 2009. The works will result in a reduction of at least 10 parking spaces and staff may have to make alternative parking arrangements.
The works are required in order to make the meeting rooms building compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.
External works
Externally, works will involve the installation of a new ramp, which has been sensitively designed to minimise its impact on this Grade 2 listed building, plus the provision of two disabled parking bays (see above). External works will begin from 12 January 2009.
Internal works
Internally, a new platform lift will be installed enabling wheelchair users to access the reception area as well as the Pilkington and Blackburn meeting rooms. Doorways into the Roscoe room will be adapted, with one being widened and the other blocked off to accommodate the new platform lift. The disabled toilet adjacent to the Roscoe room is also to be refurbished. These internal works are scheduled to begin on 16 February 2009.
Reduction in car parking spaces
While work is ongoing the number of car parking spaces available will be reduced by at least 10 spaces. Alternative parking provision is available at the nearby Mount Pleasant Car Park to all staff with relevant LJMU parking permits. Provision for external visitors (i.e. non-LJMU staff) will also be reduced.
Room bookings
Conference and Event Services will be contacting everyone who has already booked the Pilkington, Blackburn and Roscoe meeting rooms to inform them of the works and to apologise for any disruption, noise or otherwise, that they may experience as a result.
