Book explains the Holocaust

With the release of Hollywood films such as 'Defiance' starring Daniel Craig, 'Valkyrie' starring Tom Cruise and the BBC series of the most well-known Holocaust victim, Anne Frank, there is currently great popular interest in World War 2, and opposition to Hitler.

Today - International Holocaust Day - Frank McDonough, Reader in International History, with John Cochrane, Lecturer in History, publish a new history of one on the most horrendous aspects of the Second World War. The book explains why the Holocaust occurred and explores the impact of the Holocaust since 1945.

Frank McDonough commented: "Although there have been many studies of the key aspects of the Holocaust, and numerous Hollywood films, there have actually been very few books which have attempted to provide readers with an accessible history of this complex subject."
